Position Description:
The Office Engineer receives, distributes, and organizes large amounts of information and must be diligent about maintaining project records. Typical duties include computing and tracking quantities, preparing pay estimates, drafting directives and change orders, monitoring the project schedule and budget, overseeing setup and maintenance of project files, managing contract submittals, taking meeting
minutes, and preparing project records with details such as contractor progress, field conditions, equipment use, and corrective actions.
The Office Engineer reports to and supports the Project Engineer, and must be able to continue administrative work in the Project Engineer’s absence. He or she will often work without direct oversight for extended periods and must be comfortable working on remote project sites that may require travel by boat, aircraft, or off-road vehicle.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least two seasons of experience in construction inspection, materials testing, and/or office administration, contract administration, or equivalent. In lieu of two seasons of experience, formal education in construction management, construction technologies, engineering, or business may be considered.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Experience working on airport, highway, bridge, and/or marine projects.
  • Experience working for or on behalf of state and federal government agencies.
  • AK-CESCL or equivalent erosion and sediment control certification/experience.
  • Experience with CPM Scheduling and project management software-
  • Experience with AASHTOWare- Fluency in Microsoft Office Suites.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Provide three professional or personal references.
