Recruiting for: Project Engineer
Location: Juneau, Ketchikan, Sitka, Kake, Aleutian Islands, and elsewhere in Alaska
Position Description:
The Project Engineer is responsible for all facets of construction contract administration and ensures the project is built to meet the requirements of engineered plans, specifications, permits, and funding sources. Typical duties include: interpreting plans and specifications, issuing formal correspondence and directives/change orders, preparing weekly reports, tracking pay item quantities, maintaining as-builts, coordinating with the contractor, inspecting contractor’s work for conformance, and interacting with the public. Depending on project size, the Project Engineer may also be responsible for managing, directing, and overseeing the work of other professionals. Project Engineers work without direct oversight for extended periods and must be comfortable working on remote project sites that may require travel by boat, aircraft, or off-road vehicle. Long hours in stressful environments are sometimes required.
